Create your account and tell your agent your business name, services, and service area. Then give it a real task: add a customer, research a local price, or draft an estimate. Include the customer, job details, and amount to charge. Review the result before you send it.

Your agent can draft estimates and invoices, set up customer service plans, research local pricing, organize customer records, remember your prices, and schedule work. You can also enable an AI receptionist and text your agent by SMS.

Modwork is designed for small service businesses—landscapers, cleaners, pool professionals, plumbers, electricians, contractors, and other teams that spend more time doing the work than sitting at a desk.

You can create customers and draft estimates and invoices right away. To take calls, verify your phone and enable your receptionist in Settings. Use your Modwork business number: it rings your phone first, then the agent handles calls you miss. To accept online card payments, complete Stripe setup. You can still send invoices for payment by cash, check, or another offline method.

You can review one-time estimates and invoices before sending. Your agent sends them when you ask it to, or you can use the Send button. Recurring service plans work differently: creating an invoice-billed plan sends the first invoice immediately and schedules later invoices automatically. Review the amount and billing schedule before you confirm a plan.

Set an amount and billing schedule for a customer with an email on file. Invoice-billed plans email each cycle’s invoice automatically. Autopay plans require completed Stripe setup and customer enrollment through a signup link. Repeating service visits are scheduled separately from billing. These plans charge your customers; they are separate from your Modwork subscription.

Tell your agent the prices, policies, and preferences you want it to remember. It can save those facts for future tasks. Customer-specific details stay on the customer record. If something changes, ask your agent to update it.

Use Modwork on the web or in the iPhone app. You can also text your agent after SMS setup. Your SMS conversation is separate from your app and web chat history.

Add your US mobile number in Settings, agree to receive SMS, and verify the code sent to your phone. Then text your Modwork agent during an active trial or subscription. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP to stop messages.
